I’m Back!

Blog BirdWohoo!  It’s been over two months since I posted to this sadly neglected blog and regular followers of my Internet life must have wondered where I had gone.  It’s been a fairly eventful last few months.  My career with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary is drawing to a close having being approved for medical retirement.  I’m gutted, and it will take some time to get over!  I loved my job, especially the last six and half years spent at Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST).  I met many dedicated and conscientious people from our home forces as well as foreign and NATO countries.  I also formed new opinions about the Royal Fleet Auxiliary on a daily basis, particularly the personnel who man the ships.  They did, and continue to, amaze me with their “unsquashable” attitude.  No matter what I threw at them (and sometimes FOST do push the boundaries a little!), they always bounced back with hard graft and a sense of humour.  Not once in my time at FOST did I have to “have a chat” with anybody about their attitude.  I am extremely proud of the fact that I served alongside so many dedicated and professional people in the RFA.  I will miss them!

Okay, so whats next?!  Good question!  I have been trying to establish myself as a website designer and secured a comission with a local company to “makeover” their website and to create a blog.  I’m extremely pleased with the results.  It’s taken a while as the project grew as the site developed.  We are almost finished with the main design implementation and I can now concentrate on the social networking aspects.  POV Production Company Limited have been a great company to work with and I am really pleased to be associated with them.

Hopefully this will be a “foot in the door” for me and I can continue to explore the web design niche.  Its a constantly changing landscape with innovative, cutting edge software appearing all the time.  The available resources are tremendous and I am really looking forward to imlementing new designs and techniques.  My learning curve has gone vertical!

Phew!  Quite a long post but I needed to get a lot off my chest.

Enjoy the Blog.

All the best
